Trip Cancellation

Reimburses prepaid, non-refundable trip costs when you cancel before departure for a covered reason — illness, injury, a death in the family, and other events listed in the policy wording.

Safari trips concentrate an unusual amount of prepaid, non-refundable money: camp deposits paid a year ahead, internal flights, and trekking permits that cannot be resold. Trip cancellation is the benefit that gets that money back — but only for the reasons the policy actually lists.

Worth knowing for safaris

  • Cover the full trip cost, including internal bush flights and permits, not just the international airfare.

  • "Fear of travel" and "changed my mind" are never covered reasons — that's what Cancel For Any Reason is for.

  • Gorilla and chimp permits may need dedicated permit protection; generic cancellation wording doesn't always reach them.
