About us
We read the fine print so the bush stays beautiful.
Safari Travel Insurance exists because generic travel insurance quietly fails on safari — and travelers only find out during a claim.
Why we exist
A $90,000 airlift shouldn't be a surprise
A medical evacuation from a remote camp in the Okavango Delta can cost $60–120,000. Most mainstream policies exclude the unscheduled light aircraft that got you there in the first place, cap camera equipment at a few hundred dollars, and bury activity exclusions deep in the wording.
We built Safari Travel Insurance to make those differences visible before you buy — destination by destination, activity by activity, and partner by partner.
We're an independent research and comparison site, not an insurer or broker. We don't sell or issue policies — we publish what we find, and link you to partners where you can buy directly. See our affiliate disclosure for how we make money.

How we work
The principles behind every guide
Numbers over adjectives
“Comprehensive cover” means nothing at a remote airstrip. We publish the exact evacuation limit, gear cap and bush-flight wording we find for each partner.
The honesty drawer
When a partner's policy has a gap for a specific activity or destination, we say so — plainly, in the guide itself, not buried in fine print.
One clear next step
Every guide ends with a short, specific next step: which partners are worth comparing for that destination or activity, and why.
