That makes it the destination where the walking-safari exclusion carried by several mainstream insurers goes from a footnote to a dealbreaker: the excluded activity is the itinerary.

Genuinely remote, seasonally cut off

Mfuwe has an airport with scheduled links to Lusaka, but the remoter camps — especially north of the Nsefu sector — are reached by light aircraft or long game-drive transfers, and in the November–April rains some lose road access entirely. Evacuation means an airstrip, a charter to Lusaka, and often onward transfer to Johannesburg for serious cases. Plan cover accordingly: this is a $250,000-plus evacuation limit destination, in the same tier as the Okavango.
