Scheduled Carrier
An airline operating published, timetabled routes that anyone can book — the opposite of a charter. The phrase 'scheduled carriers only' in a policy wording is the classic red flag that bush flights are excluded.
Kenya Airways from Nairobi to Johannesburg is a scheduled carrier. The 12-seater that drops you at a dirt airstrip in the Serengeti is not. Insurers use the term to draw a line around which flights their air-travel benefits apply to.
If the wording limits cover to scheduled carriers, every fly-in segment of a safari itinerary sits outside it. Safari-specialist insurers either name unscheduled charters as covered or drop the restriction entirely — one of the clearest ways to tell a safari-ready policy from a generic one.
